PawsHush ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit pawshush.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. PawsHush welcomes visitors from around the world, including the United States and the European Union/EEA/UK, and this policy addresses the rights available to both.

Optional audience measurement
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and sessions. Analytics is not loaded before consent. You may refuse without losing access to the site and withdraw using “Privacy settings”. We send a generic PawsHush page name and the site's home address, not article addresses, search terms, form entries or journal, grief-tool or pet-care inputs. Google processes device/browser information and pseudonymous cookie identifiers; reports can include approximate geography. In Google Analytics, Google signals, advertising personalization and automatic enhanced measurement are disabled. User and event data retention is set to two months; standard aggregated reports are not covered by that limit. Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) expire after 180 days without extension by this configuration.
Service providers and your rights
Google provides our consent dialog and optional analytics. Processing may involve countries outside the EEA under Google's applicable transfer safeguards. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, object to relevant processing, and withdraw consent without affecting previous lawful processing. You may complain to the Czech supervisory authority, ÚOOÚ.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. If you sign up for our email series or newsletter, we collect your email address. If you contact us, we collect whatever information you include in your message. Entries you make in tools like the Memory Journal, Grief Timeline Tracker, or Letter to Your Pet are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us or any third party.
Technical information. Our hosting providers process connection information to deliver and secure the website. Optional Google Analytics measurement is governed by the consent settings described above; article paths, referrers and tool inputs are excluded from that measurement.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies for essential site functionality, analytics (to understand how visitors use the Site), and advertising personalization (described below). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some site functionality.

We use Google AdSense. Data, purposes and consent choices are described in the Google AdSense section on this page.
Optional Google Analytics counts visits and sessions under the settings described above.
Affiliate links
PawsHush uses clearly labelled Amazon Associates links to Amazon.com (United States). If you follow an active affiliate link, that retailer or network may process cookies or similar identifiers under its own privacy notice to attribute a qualifying purchase. We do not receive your payment details.
A commercial relationship does not make a provider verified, tested or endorsed. We identify active affiliate links near the link and explain the arrangement in our affiliate disclosure.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the Site; send the email series or newsletter to subscribers (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email); respond to inquiries sent through our contact page; understand aggregate usage patterns; detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and serve and measure advertising, as described above.
Legal basis for processing (EU/EEA/UK visitors)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction that requires a lawful basis for processing personal data, we rely on: your consent (for example, when you subscribe to our email series, or, where required by law, before setting non-essential cookies), which you may withdraw at any time; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site and understanding aggregate usage, weighed against your rights and interests; and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations. We do not process your data on the basis of "performance of a contract," since browsing the Site does not require you to enter into a contract with us.
International data transfers
PawsHush is operated from the Czech Republic (EU). Google and its advertising technology partners may process data outside the EEA as described in their own notices and safeguards. Amazon may process affiliate attribution data under its own privacy notice.
We do not sell your personal data
PawsHush does not sell your personal information to third parties for money. Some data-sharing arrangements with our advertising partners (such as Google and its ad-network partners) may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under certain state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), because of how cookies and identifiers are shared for ad personalization. Where required by law, we provide mechanisms to opt out of such sharing — see the "Your privacy choices" section below.
Your privacy choices
California and other U.S. state residents: California (CCPA/CPRA) and a growing number of other states — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and more than 20 states in total as of 2026 — have comprehensive privacy laws that generally give you the right to know what personal information we collect, to correct or delete it, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Some of these laws also give you the right to appeal a denied request. EU/EEA/UK visitors (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data; to withdraw consent at any time; and to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, including for advertising purposes. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority or, since PawsHush is established in the Czech Republic, with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů — uoou.cz).
Cookie controls: Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. You may also see a cookie/consent management tool on the Site provided through our ad partner, which allows you to adjust your advertising and analytics cookie preferences directly.
Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, our Site does not currently alter its behavior based on them.
Children's privacy
PawsHush is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Data retention
We retain email addresses collected for the newsletter for as long as you remain subscribed. Contact form/email correspondence is retained as needed to respond to and document inquiries. Locally stored tool data (Memory Journal, mood tracker, letters) lives only in your browser and is retained or deleted according to your own browser settings — we have no server-side copy of it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here; we encourage you to review this page periodically.
